Please let me know if your city has adopted the resolution recommended by the League endorsing the constitutional amendments. (See the previous request below from Don Zimmerman). If this has not been done, but will be done in the near future, it would be helpful to know that also.
It will be critical to our success to be able to show strong support among our membership. A list of cities that have endorsed the amendments will be featured on the campaign website and in related materials.

Good morning, AMList subscribers:
As you are probably aware, the League has endorsed two Constitutional amendments that will be on the November 2010 ballot for approval that are very important to the future of cities and towns in Arkansas as well as the entire State. The attached endorsement piece that was distributed at the AML Convention in June summarizes the important points of the two proposals. Also attached is a sample resolution that we recommend for adoption by the governing bodies of all AML member cities and towns. These items are also available on AML's website at www.arml.org
If you are or might be considering the possibility of financing important local projects in the future or are interested in promoting economic development in your area, the passage of these amendments will likely have a direct benefit for you. Membership of the League must work together as part of the voter education process to get these amendments approved. I urge you, members of your city council or board and other city officials to do all you can in your community to educate constituents about the need to approve these amendments.
