Please place first on the City Council Meeting Agenda Tuesday 11/16/2010, the presentation by State Auditors and their Attorney at 4:30PM. They wish to Leave as soon as their Presentation is over, due to the many hours drive back to their Homes. I would also make plans to use the Municipal Court Room since I expect a large crowd. I recomend an invitation to the Council Elect , Mayor Elect , Department Heads, as well as City Employees to be present to observe the presentation and learn the recommendations from the Auditors comments. Only with Knowledge of past experiences can we possibly change future events of our City Government.. It is most obvious from the letter of Prosecuting Attorney Fletcher Long “ It is as distressing to me as it is to you that the government of the City of Helena-West Helena appears to be unable to comply with the Arkansas Code relating to fiscal affairs of cities and towns and the Arkansas Municipal Accounting Law”. I believe our City Government can comply if our Officials understand and do what is right and required of them by State Law. Our local Elected Officials must understand the seriousness of their responsibilities to the citizens of this community. Thanks for your cooperation and Best Wishes.
