[ALDERMEN:872] Fwd: FW: Helena-West Helena disaster grant project

Gentlemen:

I have asked Mrs. Norman to attend the council meeting on Tuesday to explain this grant opportunity. We have been pre-approved for just over $400,000.00 in disaster related grant funds. These monies require no match. We need six (6) affirmative votes on the pending resolutions in order to move to the next phase in this grant process. The monies were applied for following your authorization of Mike Marlar and me to go forward with various street, drainage and parks projects. This money will be steered toward various street projects.

I will ask Mr. Marlar to appear as well to answer any engineering questions.

Dianne, without the City Council passing all resolutions required by HUD it will not be possible for the City to receive the requested grant award.  Please remind them that the sooner this is done the sooner we can move forward with the project.
